Therapeutic Philosophy
I greatly admire someone who has chosen to pursue therapy and understand this isn't always an easy decision or commitment to make.
In working with me, you will find a warm, non-judgmental environment in which I hope you will feel comfortable. A strong relationship between a therapist and client is fundamental to the success of therapy.
I am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches and I think it is important to determine which strategies are most effective based on your individual needs. Many problems look the same on the surface, but can only be resolved effectively by taking individual differences into account. At your first session, I will evaluate your history and your current needs. From there, the therapeutic work begins. I integrate into my work cognitive behavioral therapy, insight-based therapies, existential theory, as well as other approaches.
